Review
Atlas 2.0.0.0 computes the resulting moments and reaction forces for a given beam with loads applied to it.
The program uses the Cross´ method, the loads can be single or distributed.
The main utility of this program, targeted at architects and construction engineers, would be to optimize joint positions (i.e. positions with zero moment) in purlins or beams.
The first thing the program will ask you is the length of the beam. Then, it will represent it in a graphic. The upper section is the one you will use to input data. There, you can indicate the hinges you will use.
Then, you can input the loads, using the "Loads" button. The lower section will show you the resulting moments and reaction forces according to your entries.
Using the select tool you can choose any of the objects you have placed on the beam and change it location. In this way, the results will vary.
When you´re satisfied with the results, you can print them or save them for future use.
This version can only handle one-dimensional structures or beams. |
- It´s a very easy to use program, that will show results instantly. It´s free.
